Phil Joynes

Principal Consultant

Phil is a strong believer in collaboration and relationship management as critical enablers of business success and is devoted to helping organisations create value through interest-based, mutual gain negotiation. Phil also enjoys teaching, passing on knowledge, and helping others to discover more of their potential.

Phil is widely respected inside and outside the company as an individual with extensive experience in Government procurement, contract, and project management and has spent over 15 years working in or alongside the Department of Defence. Over this time, Phil lists his directing the procurement, implementation, and management of high risk, high value, and complex contracts for major Defence capabilities as career highlights - in particular, the formation of multi-million-dollar acquisition and sustainment arrangements relating to the C-27J Battlefield Airlifter, Special Purpose Aircraft, Aerospace Simulators, Landing Helicopter Docks, Landing Ship Dock, and critical infrastructure at the Garden Island Defence Precinct.

Phil also has over 5 years of commercial experience within the building and facilities management sector having performed a variety of roles relating to the design, development, and delivery of efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable installations and maintenance regimes for a diverse range of public and private customers.

On a personal front, Phil is a family man that is committed to nurturing his two children's physical, social, and emotional development. Phil holds the rank of Deputy Captain within the NSW Rural Fire Service and enjoys contributing to organisational change and the transferring of knowledge to improve the culture and functionality of his Brigade. Phil holds tertiary qualifications in management and project management.
